A lamp? A light? REALLY?

Good Day Men! When I was a young boy around 8-10 years old we lived in the country outside of Burlington, NC, USA.  It was 26 acres of adventure.  In the daytime we could see really well and traveled all over that old farm.  We discovered the creek on the back of the property, and the sandy beaches where cattle used to cross many years before.  It was fun to explore.  But at night, things changed quite a bit.  We had to have a flashlight to get around and back then the batteries and light-bulb weren't too good.  You could barely see more than ten feet in front of you and what lay beyond that could be a bit scary to say the least.  Sometimes we'd carry a gas lantern and that was a lot better and you could see fifty feet in front of you.  But when the gas gave out or the batteries died, that changed everything.  The world is a lot scarier in the dark and that should be the way we feel when we walk along without the lamp or light to guide...

Where do we begin.....AGAIN?

Good Day Men! I have been taking a close look over the past several years at the meetings I have had in small groups, and addressing men at various Men's Rallies over the years.  What I have seen and heard are quite interesting. For the most part no one seems to have a relationship with God like Enoch had in the Old Testament.  And the reason I hear mostly is that most of us men think that our relationship with God is more up to Him than up to us.  And from what I hear as well, most men think this.  When I ask, "How do you know when God is speaking to you about something specific?" the answer is very similar, "I'll just know," or "I don't really know."  So where do we go from here? God's calling out to us as men is pretty much the same as He calls out to others He has intended to communicate with.  We simply will not be able to understand when He calls out to us until we understand how He speaks to us.  I have mentioned this before but ...

Living With Purpose

“The Launch 2016” Living With Purpose! Over the years in the ministry of writing Devotionals, Pastoring, Preaching, and Teaching God’s Word, and speaking occasionally, along with one on one conversation with many men along the way, I have discovered men’s need for focus and determine some way to maintain a personal relationship with Christ in the process.  I have seen more men that don’t have a sense of direction from God.  They tell me they pray and wait for His answer, but nothing seems to come as an answer from God.  Discouraged, they negatively impact their fellowship (this does not mean they lose their salvation by any means) with God by intentionally drawing away and moving on to something else that proves successful.  In the mean time they push their relationship further and further away by no longer pursuing God’s direction in answering any specific prayer request.  Meanwhile God is working on their request, but man’s impatience moves him away f...
