Strength and Courage into the New Testament....

Hey Men, Looking from the brief time we spent in the book of Joshua, how do we see this strength and courage into the New Testament? God met the needs of the Apostles, and the disciples along the way in the building of the church in the New Testament.  These men were provided for through almighty God meeting their needs along their journey.  None of them had huge bank accounts to lean on.  What monies that were available were given by others who trusted in God.  Paul was a tent maker, Peter, James, John and Andrew were known fishermen and others in the ministry were taken care of as well.  But their main focus and task was to preach and teach the gospel.  We know in Philippians, Colossians, Ephesians, etc. that gifts were given to Paul even while he was on the road.  Their needs were met, but in the forefront of their hearts and minds was their desire to get the word out about Jesus. As God was there for these men, He is there for us as well, yes...

A Man of Conviction.....

Joshua 1: 10-11, And Joshua commanded the officers of the people saying, "Pass though the camp and command the people saying, Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you to possess." (NKJV) Hey Men, Moving further into Joshua we see him as a man of conviction.  He didn't ask the people, no, he commanded the people to prepare.  Joshua had to say this with strength and courage.  He said it with the authority of almighty God.  He said it with conviction and purpose.  He was acting on God's promises made earlier in the chapter (Joshua 1:9). Are you a man of conviction?  Do you commit to follow God's Word and His plan for your life as spelled out in His Word?  And yes, His plan for your life is spelled out in His Word.  You have to find it.  It's all there.  Mine is and I am experiencing His plan for my life daily, every tim...

God Has Built In Us.......

Joshua 1: 9, ..... Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, Hey Men, God has built in us the capacity to follow Him...... closely! Looking at the definition of "dismayed", I find the following, "Being dismayed is a sudden or complete loss of courage and firmness in the face of trouble or danger." Almighty God knew the dangers that lay in front of Joshua.  But during the time that Joshua was being taught and guided by Moses, Joshua learned and matured in the ways that God moved in the life of Moses, therefore he was quite prepared for what lay in front of him in the journey ahead into the Promised Land.  But God did not enlighten Joshua about all that was to be required of him in the process of conquering the land.  All God did was to tell Joshua what was going to be accomplished.  God left the "how to" up to the trust that Joshua had in almighty God to fulfill that which He had promised, thus the further command to "Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed...

"Strength and Courage"

Mark 6:3  Isn't this the Carpenter?...... Hey Men, Looking at the example Jesus was for us, we see in Mark 6:3 that he was known as the "Carpenter".  Even as a young boy he contributed to the family business of carpentry.  He made things such as tables, chairs, doors and door frames, and I'm sure much more than that as the needs of the community became more pressing as the community grew in population. So, where does this take us?  Jesus grew up and became a man of "Strength and Courage".  He was not soft and weak.  He had compassion for the people.  Even as a young boy he didn't play with toys, he worked with tools.  He expressed the value of work throughout his life.  To us, we see it builds character, strength, will power just to name a few.   When Jesus spoke to the crowds there was nothing about him that turned people away.  Every facet of His life drew the people to Him. Whose life are you impacting today?  W...

Command from God!

Joshua 1:9  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid or dismayed for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Hey MEN! It's time to listen to the COMMANDS from God and move them into action in our lives.  I am using today's verse with conviction. 1.  Be strong in spirit and in truth.  Read and pursue the Word of God with intensity! PRAY often! 2.  Be strong in body and mind.  Quit watching MUSH on TV, computer, phone iPad, etc.  GET ACTIVE now!  Limit your Facebook time, it becomes a waste of time to just "scroll" (suddenly you have blown hours of valuable time of which God will actually hold you accountable for.) 3.  Required sleep every night, 8 hours and then get UP! (unless prescribed otherwise by a doctor).  More than 8 hours can leave you groggy and tired.  It's time for the MAN to set his new standard. 4.  Drink water often. 5.  Eat HEALTHY!  If your are going t...
