The Next move is OURS!

“The Launch” 2015 In our next phase of “The Launch” we need to look at the promises of God through His servant King David.   In Psalm 37: 23 David writes: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.”   We need to understand what the word “ordered” means here before we can move on.   The word “order” is not by command for us to take orders shouted out to us telling us what to do next.   Oh no, this is shown as a degree of “order” as our lives were being pieced together one piece at a time with great precision and in His (God’s) case a sense of spiritual order not our understanding of order from a human standpoint.   His purpose is to fulfill our lives in ways that point to Him.   God built into or lives a sense of understanding from the very beginning of time.   We see the returns on His investment in our lives as humans when we look at Enoch.   Obtaining that kind of relationship with God is possible but...

So now, what is our next step?

From the Founder/Director of “Good News Brief For Men” Ministries “The Launch” 2015 So now, what is our next step? When we look at the life of Enoch, we see a rather short glimpse into his life in his relationship with God.  The relationship they had was not light hearted, nor was it just a casual walk in the cool of the day on occasion.  It really couldn’t be that easy.  Several things had to take place here in order for us as Men of God to more fully understand what was really happening and what we need to glean from this relationship before us. Enoch walked with God.  Worship and praise had to be on the lips of Enoch as well as his heart from which it came.  God inhabits the praises of His people and He enjoys our glorifying Him at every opportunity.  But Enoch, it appears went a bit farther than that.  His heart was so IN TUNE with God that God waited no longer for fellowship upon death.  He just took Enoch up right away....

The Launch 2015

From the Founder/Director of “Good News Brief For Men” Ministries “The Launch” 2015 In the past several months I have been developing a new devotional series.   I hope you find it useful in your daily lives.   My desire is to build spiritual “Muscle” into our daily lives.   Often times we read “gender neutral” devotionals and yes they do have their impact, however we as Men of God need more focused readings that strengthen our daily walk in Christ.   I will be writing these from the previously developed outlines I have created over the last several months of my study geared just for men.   These are not developed from other devotional readings I have read over the years.   They have come from my personal study in the Word of God. Today we begin with “The Launch”.   This term can go in several directions and we will develop them all along the way.   This is a specific series guiding us into a closer walk with God. In Genesis 5: 22-24 we...

Lessons in Being Humble Before God......

James 4: 10   Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He shall lift you up.  (KJV)                    As we bring the Devotional on James 4: 10 to an end, (it surely will not bring it to a close,) God continues to move in my life in ways we will see today as He has built strength and courage into my life through all the adventures, some sad, some hard, and some extremely difficult, yet He still is at work in helping me see daily and sometimes hourly that I need to rely upon Him 24/7.             I remember the first time that I became aware of how God humbles us to Himself, and that occurred to me the day I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior.  I needed His cleansing, His forgiveness, His strength and of course, His courage.  There was a lot that lay in front of me as He began to build this sinner, now forgiven and cleansed into the Man of God He intended for me to become fro...

Lessons in Being Humble Before God....

James 4: 10   Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He shall lift you up.  (KJV)         This particular verse kept coming to me over the months that followed and continued memory of several verses that I repeated and memorized along the way began to support what God was saying in this first verse.           I began to remember a friend of mine in High School that a Christian friend of mine and me had visited as he was dealing with a severely broken arm.   It was so badly broken at the time that he was quite bed-ridden in an effort to keep it stable enough to heal properly.  We went to support him and remind him of our friendship and that we were there for him if there was anything we could do.  He assured us he was fine and quite able to heal over time and that he really didn’t need anyone and he could do this alone.  The pain he was experiencing was severe enough that the expressions on h...

Lessons in Being Humble Before God....

James 4: 10   Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He shall lift you up. (KJV)          Many years ago I began memorizing Bible verses.  I hadn't really given much thought to memorizing verses but I had received as a gift from a Pastor friend of mine a small plastic container with little cards stacked inside.  The wording on the top of the lid said "Precious Promises".  Each of the small cards had a single daily Bible verse to commit to memory.  Today's verse was the first one that I pulled out and read.  The meaning made me really scratch my head, as I didn't really understand what the verse meant.  The meaning wasn't what I was out to achieve at this particular time so, I tucked the small card into my shirt pocket and at various times throughout the day I would pull the little card out and recite the verse and the reference as to where it came from in the Bible.  By the end of the day I had fully memorized th...
