Where do we begin.....AGAIN?
Good Day Men!
I have been taking a close look over the past several years at the meetings I have had in small groups, and addressing men at various Men's Rallies over the years. What I have seen and heard are quite interesting. For the most part no one seems to have a relationship with God like Enoch had in the Old Testament. And the reason I hear mostly is that most of us men think that our relationship with God is more up to Him than up to us. And from what I hear as well, most men think this. When I ask, "How do you know when God is speaking to you about something specific?" the answer is very similar, "I'll just know," or "I don't really know." So where do we go from here?
God's calling out to us as men is pretty much the same as He calls out to others He has intended to communicate with. We simply will not be able to understand when He calls out to us until we understand how He speaks to us. I have mentioned this before but it deserves greater attention especially when God appears to be silent.
If I were to go to a foreign country I would need to learn the language in order to communicate with anyone. I need to at least understand some words so when someone would talk to me I wouldn't be totally in the dark. Interesting that I should use that word "dark". The darkness is where Satan wants to keep you. He doesn't want you to turn on the Light. Satan just as soon keep you blinded by the darkness and that is where He wants you to reside. His comments to you could even be "God's Word is too complicated and it's up to Pastors and Theologians to explain it to you. Too often we accept the fact that Satan would love for us to believe this. But in reality, God built His Word through His divine guidance for us to get personal with Him, and NOW is the time to get engaged in this process. Today I am going to to give you a few key verses to get you started off on the right foot and the first step for many of you. Some of us will be doing this to "reconnect" with God and to get BACK on track. Either way these verses will guide you in this endeavor.
Proverbs 3: 5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Psalms 32: 8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye.
In these two verses you can read and mark in your Bible and commit them to memory. If sin is an issue right now go to: 1 John 1: 9, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We can begin to move forward with these three verses. More will come later and we all continue to move forward for the cause of Christ and His direction for us to become true MEN of GOD! It's never too late the begin.....again.
It's time to stop drifting and living a life of purpose and intention. We can do THIS!
Prayer: God bless us as He guides us in a closer relationship with Him, in Jesus' name, AMEN!
