God’s Free Gift!

Romans 6: 23  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (NASB)

Many a sermon has been issued from the pulpit using this verse.  It is a powerful verse.  It speaks of the absolute price of sin to the unbeliever.  This verse alone should be all one would need to accept Christ as their personal Savior, not from being scared out of hell but being loved into heaven.  God’s greatest gift was His Son Jesus Christ.  It took great love to do for us what God did through His Son.  But often times unbelievers turn God away with a simple comment like “I not interested”.  Or they may have even categorized God as equal in all religions and this in terribly dangerous.  Based on this simple opinion, millions will go to hell.  How sad.

But there is life.  We must pray for each opportunity for encountering the unbelievers we run into each and every day.  We must be ready to give them that life sustaining testimony in Christ so that they too will seek to know Him.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, open and prepare the way for you to be a testimony through me.  Prepare the heart of the saved with your testimony, and the heart of the unsaved to receive it through your grace this day.  Amen.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

  Promise Keepers 1993-2024-2 The attendance of that conference in Indianapolis Indiana at the Hosier Dome was a little over 70,000. Many conferences over the next several years averaged between 60,000 and 70,000. Several conferences were held throughout the year, mostly from early summer into mid-fall. Proverbs 4: 1   Hear O sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention that you may gain understanding, (NASB) As I look at this verse for the day I see the seriousness of our responsibilities as fathers to our children. Just as we are to look to our heavenly Father for His wisdom applied to our lives through His Word, our children look to us so that they too, in life, will  gain understanding .  How prepared are we as dads to reveal to our children the truths of life as revealed in the Bible. The first thing they see is our walk. We can say all we want, but unless our walk reflects what we say, our children will not take what we say seriously. At times they will test us and push us to the limit. We MUST stick to our convictions.
