Where to Begin?

-
Matthew 16:24:  “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow Me.”  (NIV)

Absolute peace occurs when we are in tune and aligned with what God desires for our lives.  When we are in tune with God, good things are going to happen.  Sometimes those good things may not seem like good things at the time but God is constantly working in and through you to bring you that peace that Jesus refers to in His Word.  We have to leave the old self and it’s weighty baggage behind and move forward in Christ.  So now a decision must be made.  It’s up to you in how you seek God.  But in today’s verse he tells us to look to Him deny ourselves and seek His ways for our lives.  That is where we begin this wonderful journey.

Prayer:  Dear Lord,  Help me to clearly see those things I need to give up as I look to become more like You.  In Jesus’ Name…Amen.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

  Promise Keepers 1993-2024-2 The attendance of that conference in Indianapolis Indiana at the Hosier Dome was a little over 70,000. Many conferences over the next several years averaged between 60,000 and 70,000. Several conferences were held throughout the year, mostly from early summer into mid-fall. Some conferences were held in open stadiums and others held in enclosed arenas. One was even held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina. Proverbs 4: 1   Hear O sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention that you may gain understanding, (NASB) As I look at this verse for the day I see the seriousness of our responsibilities as fathers to our children. Just as we are to look to our heavenly Father for His wisdom applied to our lives through His Word, our children look to us so that they too, in life, will  gain understanding .  How prepared are we as dads to reveal to our children the truths of life as revealed in the Bible. The first thing they see is our walk. We can say all we want, but unless our walk reflects what we say, our children will not take what we say seriously. At times they will test us and push us to the limit. We MUST stick to our convictions.
