So now, what is our next step?

So now, what
is our next step?
When we look
at the life of Enoch, we see a rather short glimpse into his life in his
relationship with God. The relationship
they had was not light hearted, nor was it just a casual walk in the cool of
the day on occasion. It really couldn’t
be that easy. Several things had to take
place here in order for us as Men of God to more fully understand what was
really happening and what we need to glean from this relationship before us.
Enoch walked
with God. Worship and praise had to be
on the lips of Enoch as well as his heart from which it came. God inhabits the praises of His people and He
enjoys our glorifying Him at every opportunity.
But Enoch, it appears went a bit farther than that. His heart was so IN TUNE with God that God
waited no longer for fellowship upon death.
He just took Enoch up right away.
No doubt Enoch’s worship and Praise of God are still going on even today
in Heaven. That relationship was deep
and Enoch expressed it in many ways. It
wasn’t just and evening prayer, or a five minute quiet time alone with
God. It was what Paul talked about in
his letter to the Thessalonians in Chapter 5: 17. Pray without ceasing is an attempt for us to
experience that same closeness that Enoch had with our heavenly Father. But it goes farther than “pray without
ceasing”, much farther. This becomes
relational after a period of time. And
we begin to sit and listen to God. An
attitude of prayer with worship and praise throughout your day and suddenly you
don’t even realize you are doing it. He
speaks to our hearts and guides us through His Word, and our prayers to
Him. Sometimes after we finish our
prayers and the accompanying list generated through personal prayer requests
and needs, we just need to do what David refers to in Psalm 46:10, “Be still,
and know that I am God.” But understand
the word “know” is deep, not just superficial.
Enoch “knew” God on that deep kind of level. And this takes work as all relationships
require. It was a weaving of one’s life
into another. It takes an incredibly deep purpose. But this, my brothers in Christ will be the
best relationship you will ever experience.
It will also blend into the lives others you know and it will probably
happen without your ever realizing it.
Let me give
you a glimpse of some of the things you may expect;
- · A deeper understanding or your purpose in Christ
- · A desire to arrange your time to more efficiently seek Him, and now on His terms
- · A desire to have a greater understanding of His presence in our lives through the Holy Spirit.
These are
just a few of the “things” we can see change as we continue to move into the
“Launch” of this new series in discovering God’s purposes in our relationship
with Him.
Prayer: Dear Father in Heaven, please lead us and guide us and help us to be
submissive to your calling and direction in our lives as we seek your will and
purpose in a fulfilling relationship in serving you as King of Kings and Lord
of Lords. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
Have a Blessed day!
