Strength and Courage into the New Testament....

Hey Men,

Looking from the brief time we spent in the book of Joshua, how do we see this strength and courage into the New Testament?

God met the needs of the Apostles, and the disciples along the way in the building of the church in the New Testament.  These men were provided for through almighty God meeting their needs along their journey.  None of them had huge bank accounts to lean on.  What monies that were available were given by others who trusted in God.  Paul was a tent maker, Peter, James, John and Andrew were known fishermen and others in the ministry were taken care of as well.  But their main focus and task was to preach and teach the gospel.  We know in Philippians, Colossians, Ephesians, etc. that gifts were given to Paul even while he was on the road.  Their needs were met, but in the forefront of their hearts and minds was their desire to get the word out about Jesus.

As God was there for these men, He is there for us as well, yes even in today's time.  Each Apostle depended upon God for strength and courage along the way.  Many times were difficult and full of circumstances that leaning on God was all they could do.

This is how God wants us to live, totally reliant upon Him.  A long time friend of mine and I were talking tonight and he is entering a difficult time with a layoff looming over him over the next 8 weeks.  Fortunately he has been given that long to find another job.  The key point of our discussion was this; "Have you ever experienced a time where God actually failed you?"  A short pause later and his answer was; "No, God has never ever failed me."

Yes the times we are in may be trying for sure, but we need to look for what God is wanting to show us through this recent trial of COVID19.  We need to stay close to God through this and use our common sense in social distancing to keep us from getting sick while at the same time keeping others from getting sick through prevention.

Be strong and of good courage.  God has a bigger plan than what you may be going through right now.  Look to Him, He will provide the way, and the means to accomplish His desires for your life.

If you don't know Christ as your personal Savior, look to Him today.  He knows you have read this devotional and is waiting for you to follow..... Him.

God’s plan for our lives
His desire for us to know Him:
I Timothy 2: 1-4
What God did for us:
John 3: 15-18 (16)
What we can do to accept Him as our Savior and have eternal life:
Romans 10: 9-10

Commit your life to Him today.  You will never be the same.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will and His way, through His Word…..AMEN!

Have a Great Day!!
