God Has Built In Us.......

Joshua 1: 9, ..... Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed,

Hey Men,

God has built in us the capacity to follow Him...... closely!

Looking at the definition of "dismayed", I find the following, "Being dismayed is a sudden or complete loss of courage and firmness in the face of trouble or danger."

Almighty God knew the dangers that lay in front of Joshua.  But during the time that Joshua was being taught and guided by Moses, Joshua learned and matured in the ways that God moved in the life of Moses, therefore he was quite prepared for what lay in front of him in the journey ahead into the Promised Land.  But God did not enlighten Joshua about all that was to be required of him in the process of conquering the land.  All God did was to tell Joshua what was going to be accomplished.  God left the "how to" up to the trust that Joshua had in almighty God to fulfill that which He had promised, thus the further command to "Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed".  God knew that this was possible from the human standpoint but God required supernatural trust and Joshua was the man.

There were many challenges in this journey that Joshua would face.  But almighty God was there for him, just as He is here for us.  We will face many challenges in life and much of them will catch us by surprise sending us to our knees in the process.  I would rather go to my knees before God for strength and courage than to remain upright and run from God in fear of the circumstances.  Let me challenge you at this point.  Prepare your heart in prayer and scripture for what God has planned for you in the future.  I'm not only talking about the future months, I'm talking about the future minutes as well.  God wants to bless you in every facet of your life.  Give Him the chance and the time to prove Himself according to His Word.  There is great joy in knowing Him at this depth.  He draws us near to Him through the various circumstances he places around us.  It's up to us to respond accordingly.  Be aware, God is nearer than you think.  He is just a prayer away.

More to follow.........
