A Man of Conviction.....

Joshua 1: 10-11, And Joshua commanded the officers of the people saying, "Pass though the camp and command the people saying, Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you to possess." (NKJV)

Hey Men,

Moving further into Joshua we see him as a man of conviction.  He didn't ask the people, no, he commanded the people to prepare.  Joshua had to say this with strength and courage.  He said it with the authority of almighty God.  He said it with conviction and purpose.  He was acting on God's promises made earlier in the chapter (Joshua 1:9).

Are you a man of conviction?  Do you commit to follow God's Word and His plan for your life as spelled out in His Word?  And yes, His plan for your life is spelled out in His Word.  You have to find it.  It's all there.  Mine is and I am experiencing His plan for my life daily, every time I open the Bible, His Holy Word!  Yes I do mess up and make mistakes along the way.  But He is willing to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness (1 John, 1: 9, Psalms 51).  But repentance is the major key.  If I turn away from my sins through confessing them to Him, then He will hear me and guide me along the way to recovery through His Holy Word.  Staying in the Word of God is the key in protecting us from sin.

We can do this men.  And we can do it with the same conviction that Joshua had.  Do you need to become a better man, husband, father, or grandfather?  In most cases we can all use some improvement or even major overhaul in our lives and thoughts.  Our God is able.  Trust Him today.  It's never to late to turn to Him.  You can trust Him, He will guide you.

More to come......

If you don't know Christ as your personal Savior, look to Him today.  He knows you have read this devotional and is waiting for you to follow..... Him.
