"Strength and Courage"

Mark 6:3  Isn't this the Carpenter?......

Hey Men,

Looking at the example Jesus was for us, we see in Mark 6:3 that he was known as the "Carpenter".  Even as a young boy he contributed to the family business of carpentry.  He made things such as tables, chairs, doors and door frames, and I'm sure much more than that as the needs of the community became more pressing as the community grew in population.

So, where does this take us?  Jesus grew up and became a man of "Strength and Courage".  He was not soft and weak.  He had compassion for the people.  Even as a young boy he didn't play with toys, he worked with tools.  He expressed the value of work throughout his life.  To us, we see it builds character, strength, will power just to name a few.   When Jesus spoke to the crowds there was nothing about him that turned people away.  Every facet of His life drew the people to Him.

Whose life are you impacting today?  What do others see when they look at you?  Do others see in you what you want them to see, or are you forming their opinions of you by what they see before you even speak?  My Dad told me many times that the first impression even in passing is the most important.  He was right.  That first impression forms the ways and means of how others relate to you from the time they meet you or even pass you in the street.  The image of Jesus should be who they see.  The expression on our faces, what we wear, how we are seen.  We are becoming a society of "I really don't care what others think of me" attitude.  Our attitudes of life have become complacent to the point that we don't really care anymore.  We must live with greater intent and purpose.  God has a message for others that He wants to promote through us.  Are we ready?

Guys, we need to look in the mirror both spiritual and physical.  Joshua was not a slob.  Great men of God were not slobs and complacent about their lives.  They lived their lives for the most important value in their life, our Holy God!  Yes, to make Him proud is a challenge, but more than anything else, He wants your heart given over to Him.  God can work with your heart.  He will do the rest if our lives are given over completely to Him.

God’s plan for our lives
His desire for us to know Him:
I Timothy 2: 1-4
What God did for us:
John 3: 15-18 (16)
What we can do to accept Him as our Savior and have eternal life:
Romans 10: 9-10

Commit your life to Him today.  You will never be the same.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will and His way, through His Word…..AMEN!

Have a Great Day!!
