Godly Strength
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (NKJV)
I have
revisited this verse many times throughout my life only to rediscover its
powerful truths. What drove Paul to write this was his deep need and
desire for God’s power, not only in the dark times of his life, but throughout
his entire life as a believer. We need to understand God’s supply is continual.
The Holy
Spirit lies in wait to give us God’s strength and courage when tragedy and trials
occur in our lives. We need to understand that God is not just waiting for us
to cry out to Him when His strength in our lives is needed. He wants our
lives to be so impacted by His presence that we simply acknowledge that He and
He alone is already supplying the strength needed to get through every situation
we encounter. Paul did not say, I can do all things that require God’s strength,
and he will strengthen me when I call out with the need. He said, “I
can do all things”. This means everything we do every day in our
lives.
Here we go
back to the abundant life issue again. We can face temptation and say
no. And we can also face God’s challenges before us and say YES LORD YES!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly
Father. Help me to understand that You meet our need long before we see
that need appear. Give me greater confidence in my relationship with You
as You work all the details of my life that I face every day. Help me to
be closer to You as I experience Your great provision of strength already in
place in my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Application for the day: Step
into your day fully knowing that God has all the strength and courage you need
to face this day. Call upon Him!
Have a BLESSED Day!!!
In Christ,
Ted Wilkins
