A Call to Holy Living

1 Peter 1: 13 Therefore, get your minds ready for action, being self-disciplined, and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (HCSB)

Good Day Everyone,

We are being instructed by the Apostle Peter that first we should get out minds ready for action.  All of the writers of the Bible wrote by experience or by revelation.  In most cases revelation came and the experience followed.  But in any case Peter is telling us to get out minds ready for action, something is about to happen.  So tell me when is something in a believer's life NOT going to happen?  God is always at work, and in reality the only time something is happening is when we are asleep.  But that, we are told in the scriptures is also the time that God is communicating to the Holy Spirit instructions for His plans in our lives.  Our bodies may be at rest when we sleep, but God is always at work in and through us.

So, we must get our minds set on the things above, not on the things of this world.  God will direct us in how we deal with the things of the world but we are to separate and come out from among them, and in doing so God will prepare us for each encounter we have either with our friends or strangers, but we must have the mind ready for action.  This requires us to be self-disciplined in all of our actions and become prepared for how and when God will pour Himself through us as His children.  We are to depend on His grace to guide us and as always His grace is always MORE than sufficient.  In King David's life through Psalm 23 we see where his cup overflowed and that is how we need to see God at work through our lives with His Holy provisions as always being, more than enough.  His grace will be brought through the revelation of Jesus Christ, and this comes as we dwell on His Word and spend time alone with Him that we may see His direction for our lives more clearly.

In all of this we must prepare ours minds through self-discipline and set our hope on Christ.  He will guide us.

Key Thought: As we begin to enter into this season of training where our focus is on the cause of Christ, we will be able to see His direction for us more clearly as we become fore familiar with how He works through the scripture and our prayers and times of meditation.  Seek Him!  Where He may be found!

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, guide me in trusting you for each move in my life that my life may have purpose here on earth.  Help me to be structured for your purposes and open to your guiding me day by day and hour by hour.  In Jesus name, AMEN!

Have a GREAT day!

In Christ,
