Why WORRY????
Philippians 4:6-7 Don't worry about anything, but in everything through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
Hello Everyone!
So, today's scripture says to not worry about anything. So where are we today on the "WORRY" scale? We just got through Monday, and Tuesday is coming. Trust me Tuesday will come like it or not and along with it will be a whole new set of issues (problems) that we will have to add to what we did not complete today. I don't know about you but I am still working off some of last weeks issues, but at least that list is fading somewhat.
What kind of issues or problems did you face today? I don't know about you but I could use a few more hours in the day to accomplish the things that "Type A" personalities try to tackle. I am trying to get going on writing a new Bible Commentary on the book of Philippians, and this verse was just a "stand out". We aren't to worry, "BUT" in EVERYTHING..... So in a mathematical equation everything in the unknown is "X", and here we must solve for "X". Prayer is a known in your life for sure. Jesus teaches us how to pray in Matthew 6: 5-15, so that is a KNOWN. PETITION is another KNOWN generated by your list of needs and desires that you and God know about, so let's be honest let's write them all down, your list does not surprise God, He knows your heart already. So with the word "AND" separating the two KNOWN'S the next thing we do is multiply the two known's once summed together and multiply that answer by "THANKSGIVING". Being THANKFUL to God for His many blessings will help in preparing your heart to receive what He has to be "GIFTED" to you.
You truly need to be inclusive in your prayer life but also look at the ways you talk with Him. It must be respectful, and honoring. It must be in reverence. Ask Him to prepare your heart for His answer so you will know what His deepest answer is for your needs. This is experiencing Him at His deepest level.
Key point: We need to take it to Him and leave it there, expect His answer, and prepare our hearts so that when he delivers that answer to our hearts that we will be ready to receive his blessing in the way that our waiting and preparing for his answer would bring him incredible glory and honor. That’s not just communication, that’s conversation.
Prayer: Dear Father in Heaven, prepare my heart to be a vessel in which only You can pour and help me to be in position for Your greatest blessings still yet to come. In Jesus' name, AMEN!
Have a GREAT day!
In Christ,
