The Message of Christ

Colossians 3:16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. (NIV)

Do we let the message of Christ radiate through our connections with others along our daily journey? Are we looking for an opportunity to be an encouragement to someone along the way? What would the Apostles do? If you read their letters written in the Word of God, you can see that their focus was Christ Himself. Jesus’ focus Himself was the kingdom of God. We see this clearly in John 14:1-6 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (NKJV)

Even on the Road to Emmaus when the two travelers encountered Jesus (Luke 24:13-35), the focus of the conversation was not small talk, it was Jesus. I find it intriguing to see how Jesus guided the conversation back to Himself through the Old Testament Prophets.

Jesus should be the focus of our conversations, from communication, to singing songs of worship and praise, from the privacy of our homes to the proclamation of our faith in Him in the public. There is nothing wrong with having a conversation over a cup of coffee, or tea with focus being Jesus. Trust me, your conversation will be encouraging to each other and even to others seated around you.

Key Point: Look for opportunities to share Christ with others along your daily journey. Speak to their hearts and God will bless your endeavors to share Jesus with every opportunity you invite Him into. Enjoy your time, beginning today. You will probably find this challenging, but trust me, Jesus is up to the challenge.

Prayer: Dear Holy Father in Heaven. Help me to be aware of Your presence in and through my life every day. Help me to look for opportunities that You open for me and give me the courage to speak out for the cause of Christ. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!!!

Have a Wonderfully Blessed Day!!!

In Christ,
