The Two Commandments (Part 2 of 2)
Matthew 22:39 “And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (NKJV)
In this
second commandment, Jesus states that it is like the first one. We should
have the Godly love that only He can produce, in order to love our neighbor as
ourselves. Godly love will overcome obstacles. Godly love can clear a
path to the heart of one whom you are trying to reach in His name. You
shall be to that neighbor as Jesus would be to you.
We must
always remember that when we step out into the world, as it is today, that we
represent Christ first. Our first step out into the morning sun or rain or
some other inclement weather, must always represent Him first in every step we
take. As believers, we need to be prepared to do this in a way that would
always honor God. This means we need to stay in His Word and honor Him in
prayer so that we may represent Him correctly to this lost and dying
world. There may be another believer whom you may encounter today who is
discouraged, or downtrodden. Is your heart ready to represent Christ to that
one?
Key
Thought: It is time to get ready. God has
great and intense purposes for our lives each and every day. Are you ready
for today with Him? He is waiting for you. It is time to bend our
knees and surrender our hearts to His purpose for us today.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, guide me to
others in my path today. Help me to make a stand for the cause of Christ.
Help me to represent You in all that I say and do. Prepare my heart for each
encounter that lies ahead of me this day so that I may fulfill this second
commandment. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Have a Blessed Day!!!
In
Christ,
