In Honor of Praise (Part 2 of 2)

Good News Brief Weekend

Isaiah 38: 19 The living, the living, they praise you, as I am doing today; fathers tell their children about your faithfulness.  (NIV)

Good Day Men,

King Hezekiah knew the value of heritage.  Telling others about the faithfulness of our most holy God is great, but don’t forget about the children.  Remind the children around you of the faithfulness of God.  They don’t have to be your children.  They can be nieces and nephews, or grandchildren, or even neighborhood kids.  Believe me, they will listen.  They need to hear.

I remember several years ago I was talking to a young man about 14 years old.  I called him Son, since I didn’t know his name.  He quickly responded with, “I’m not your Son!”  I told him he was absolutely right but that I knew he was someone’s Son and I was actually honoring him and his mom and dad (whom I knew personally) by calling him Son.  It showed he had position in the family.  Most young folks feel that they have no position in the family, but oh, the Family of God is true position and God opened the door for me to show this young man respect by position.  I know he walked away a bit taller than when we met.  The same thing happened just the other day, and this young man had no respect for adults at all and walked away as if I never existed.  How sad, he gained nothing, but that didn’t stop me from praying for him as he left me.

Honor God with your testimony.  You will be truly blessed.

Key Thought:  Plan ahead and prepare you testimony for those young (and old) ears alike.  God will bless you truly.

Jesus said “Suffer not the little children to come unto me….”  God will use you to show them the way.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

Your servant in Christ,
