He Knows Our Every Thought

Luke 11:17 But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: Every Kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.  (NKJV)

Good Day Men,

Reasoning that our thoughts are deep and very personal, today’s verse tends to overturn this cart of contentment that no one knows what you are thinking.  God always knows what you are thinking.

Bringing every thought captive into Christ (2 Cor. 10:5) has new meaning doesn’t it.  He knows our thoughts and He even knows the reasoning behind those thoughts.  He knows our motives behind everything we do.  As much as we would like to dismiss this fact, we simply cannot.  There is no reason for evil or bad thoughts toward someone especially knowing that God will handle it.  We just need to place issues in His hands and let Him deal with……..  us.

If I deliver someone to God to “take care of” concerning a certain situation, I can expect Him to answer my prayers about that can’t I?  Yes, but, I am the one He can deal with on a more personal level because I can make any and all decisions about me, but I have no control over how  God will deal with others.  But I know He can deal with me.  This is where grace is applied and His best work begins.

In the past I have had men ask me how they can change their wives or their children.  Knowing that prayer changes things is a good place to start.  But more than anything else we need to pray that our families will grow to represent God as we seek to reflect Christ to each other as well as others beyond our immediate families.  But the most important request you can make of God is: “God, please change me.”  Some guys have even said they don’t need changing.  That comment alone says they do.

We need to be continually changing up as we conform to the image of Christ.  This will always lead to a progressive life in Him.  Anything else will simply divide your kingdom (house) against itself and that is exactly what Satan wants.

Key Thought: God’s Word is real and He will show you through grace the changes that need to be made in your life.  Start with a pen and paper and I promise you He will provide a list of personal changes that need to be made in your life that will empower you to reflect Him more to each and every family member.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus; Show me in the areas of my life that are not sold out to You that I may look to your greatest resource of change as You implement Your Word in my life.  In Jesus name, AMEN!

Have a GREAT day!

In Christ,
