Father’s Day 2026
Father’s Day 2026
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 Be on your guard;
stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do
everything in love. (NIV)
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY Dads!!!
Today’s verse is a reminder of how we need to be seen in the
eyes of our family and those around us. We want to be recognized as real Men of
God! This requires us to be on guard.
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal
and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to
the full.
We need to be “on guard” against the THIEF that he does not
slip into the lives of our family and seeks to destroy us from within. This
leads us to stand firm in the faith. We stand firm in the faith by taking time
to be alone with God, preferably first thing in the mornings. It sets the tone
for the remainder of the day. The time in my past when I “didn’t have time for
God” in the morning, my day reflected it. It is not that God is punishing us
when we do not spend time with Him. It is our spiritual heart that we have left
unprepared for the things that lay ahead of us that day. We need a sense of
Spiritual FRESHNESS to start the day off right! Do not settle for, “I’ll be
okay” because you won’t. Been there, done that!
Next, we need to be Strong and Courageous. God promises us
this strength and courage no different than the strength and courage He provided
for Joshua in Joshua 1:9. It is already in place for us to depend upon. We are
used to not recognizing it in our own lives that more often than not, we simply
do not know how to use what we think we do not have. It is time to retrain our
hearts and minds and take the stand for our families.
Now we move to “Do everything in love.” Colossians
3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for
the Lord, not for human masters. Living as a Man of God takes time and
effort. God will reward your efforts. Ask yourself, how would Jesus want me to
respond to this situation? This is a great place to start. WWJD (What Would
Jesus Do?)!
So where are we in this? Have you not given your all and are
just strolling and drifting through this life and hope for the best? Get ready.
I am telling you! You will fail! Drifting is exactly where Satan wants you. Before
you realize what is happening, you will be approaching the rapids of life, and it
only gets worse if you continue to drift. Next comes the falls of no return. Then
you will be doing damage control. Please men, do not go there. It is never too
late to get moving in the right direction. Stop the drifting and open the Word
of God. It is time to live a life with purpose, His purpose, not yours. God’s
intentions for you are far greater than your intentions for yourself. More
people are depending on seeing who you are. Make sure they are seeing a Man of
God!
To the men who are already doing this, congratulations. Now,
this is a reminder to the “more seasoned” men. Just because our kids are grown
and gone and maybe we are dealing with grandchildren. We still have great responsibility.
Prayer and time alone with God become richer as we move forward in reflecting
Christ to our adult children and even our grandchildren. You see men, it never
stops. We have these responsibilities throughout life. As we get older our life
in Christ continues to mature as we move closer to Him and our relationships
become richer as a result.
Key Thought:
We need to express courage and strength to step out and be seen and understood
as Godly Fathers to our families. Above all, God is watching…….
Prayer: Dear
Father in Heaven, guide me through You Word and grow me into the Man of God
that You desire for me as well as my family. Help me to be the Godly leader of
our home within our walls and beyond for the cause of Christ. In Jesus’ name I
pray! AMEN!!!
God’s
plan for our lives
His desire for us to know Him:
I Timothy 2: 1-4
What God did for us:
John 3: 15-18 (16)
What we can do to accept Him as our
Savior and have eternal life:
Romans 10: 9-10, 13
Commit
your life to Him today. You will never be the same.
In Christ,
