The Structure of Faith

Hebrews 11:1-2 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. (NIV)

Our faith in Christ is shown here in the understanding of what faith actually is. We believe in what we hope for through Christ Jesus. God ALWAYS answered the prayers of His Son. Jesus was so in tune with the Father that he knew what to pray for as God laid it upon His heart. I hear some say, “But Jesus was the Son of God, and they were connected.” However, just as it was when Jesus came into this world as a babe, he was born just as we were. It is true, He was the sinless Son of God but in the form of a man. He experienced the same things we experience here on earth. Jesus got hungry physically, just as we do. He also got thirsty and he drank. He experienced human needs and went to His Father for answers. He experienced great pain and sorrow over His upcoming experience on the Cross, and He prayed with the faith the Father gave Him.

The ancients were commended for this same kind of faith. We see their faith in action. They genuinely believed. Today, they are our examples. We need to understand that God is willing to hear us when we come to Him. Furthermore, God is willing to answer our prayers of faith.

Key Thought:  Go to God in prayer and ask Him to show you His desires for your heart and begin to seek His will through your faith today.

God builds faith through experiences. Experience Him today.

Prayer: Dear Father in Heaven, Thank You for building the structure of my faith every time I come to You in prayer. Help me to do my part as I read Your Word, the Bible, that I will experience with each passage a greater understanding of how You speak to me and prepare me for each day. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!!!

Your servant in Christ,
