Because of Him

1 Corinthians 1:30  It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. (NIV)
As believers, do we really appreciate all that Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross? The wisdom of God was poured out through Christ on the Cross. God poured through His Son the wisdom we would need to live out our salvation from day to day.
Paul says in Philippians 2:12 that we are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling (NIV). We should be fearful of our past prior to salvation and run from its actions as fast and as far as we can. The effort needed to run away from our past, even though forgiven, takes work on our part to build a resilient Christian life around the Scriptures. Our resources are found in God’s Word. Our time in reading and studying of God’s Word can be time consuming. However, beginning with fifteen minutes a day will make incredible advances in working out your salvation as a “life event” to be taken seriously. Over time you will experience changes in your thought life as well as compassion for others along your journey.
Because of Christ and what He accomplished on the Cross, we can live a life of righteousness, holiness, and redemption, for He has accomplished this ability to do this through our lives as we live for Him. That is one reason Paul makes this statement. He too lived the life of righteousness, holiness, and redemption as He continued to grow daily out of his dedication and desire to serve Jesus as he did. We see Paul’s life was fulfilled in his walk with Christ along his journey. His three missionary journeys show this in his writings encouraging others along the way. Even while he was imprisoned; he reached beyond the walls encouraging lives and civilizations well beyond where he was, even into today.
Key Point: The wisdom from God is our righteousness, holiness, and redemption found only in our salvation through Jesus Christ. Know Him today and trust Him throughout your journey.
Prayer: My most gracious heavenly Father, guide and guard my heart as I look to You through Your Word and as You speak through the lives of others that I too may work out my salvation in my life daily. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!!!
