An Obedient Thought Life (Part 4 of 4)
2 Corinthians 10: 5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing
raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive
to the obedience of Christ, (NASB)
Good Day Men!
In the last devotional it appears that having a pure thought life may be unobtainable. In today’s verse we see the obedient thought life. Men as well as women have a real problem in this area. It’s as simple as men looking at women and women looking at men. Anything other than that is considered unnatural and an abomination to our holy God (men looking at men and women looking at women, and you KNOW what I mean!). The look itself isn’t the sin. It’s what we do with that look that causes compromise in the hearts of mankind. Our thought life can be other things as well. It can involve white-collar theft of (minor) office supplies. The simple fact is if you didn’t buy it, then it doesn’t belong to you. Blue-collar theft is the same way. The key here is to not covet that which belongs to others. Does this comment have the ring of the Ten Commandments? It should. It is one. Our thought life can be controlled. It must be given to Christ. You will be surprised at what you are missing. Being a believer is not all prayer, but it will include prayer. The challenge is in your heart. Are you willing to sacrifice your thought life to be that man of God?
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, Help me to think your thoughts that I may act and think in ways that will be honoring to you and to my family. Amen!
May God richly bless us as we continue seek His will, and His way, through His Word.
