Spiritual Gifts (Part 14)

1 Corinthians 12 :11  But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.  (NASB)

The Holy Spirit works in the lives of each individual.  God, the head of the Holy Trinity works through the Holy Spirit His fullness to deliver, into and through those willing to give their hearts and minds to Him alone.  More often than not believers are not as totally committed to the cause of Christ as one would see on the outside.  The believer experiences a sense of peace in all of life’s trials and tribulations.  This doesn’t mean that they don’t get upset, hurt or otherwise at the events and situations God puts us through in order to grow deeper in love with our Savior.  But the focus is the key.  A truly committed believer will look for God’s experience for them through the entire journey.  They don’t just stand there with their eyes closed repeating, “Tell me when it’s over”.  Each event that God puts before us is yet another opportunity to grow in Him.  Many believers will never experience this fullness.  They are the ones that run when trials (from God) come their way.  Fear is a great motivator.  It can scare us away from any situation, or it can challenge us to stand with God and watch His awesome power and strength at work.

Prayer:  Dear Father in Heaven.  Challenge my heart in all that you say and do that I may always be ready when you want me to experience your great love and strength.  Help me to understand that the Holy Spirit is all-powerful and all loving, and more than capable to see me through any situation you put before me.  Help me to realize that it is the Holy Spirit that you empower us through, equipping us with your wonderful gifts in order to better serve our fellow believers as well as displaying to unbelievers your wonderful love.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

Your servant in Christ,
