Come Unto Me...

Matthew 11: 28 Come to me all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. (NASB)

What happens when you are facing trials and tribulations and times become unbearable?

Where do you turn, and what can you do?  You may be facing unemployment, family troubles, marriage issues, health problems, or maybe even experiencing the loss of a loved one.  In any of these situations, God is ready to help and guide you through whatever it may be that you are facing.  He is still there.

You may be weary of carrying any of these burdens on your own but God has other plans for your journey through this particular trial.  Looking at today’s verse we see Christ speaking and telling us to come to Him.  You may have been carrying this burden for a very long time.  You actually feel weighed down by all that this burden entails.  You are heavy-laden and God wants to give you rest through His Son Jesus Christ.  He never intended for you to carry this burden alone.  He is with you.  As a believer, Christ is your constant companion through the Holy Spirit who resides in your heart.  He is there, ALWAYS!  He waits for you.  Often times Satan will blind you so much by the severity of your particular situation that you cannot see that Christ is with you.  Satan doesn’t want to give you a break.  He wants you to hurt and experience the attitude that God has deserted you.  BUT God promises that He will never leave you nor forsake you.  Satan will shout at you saying, “Well, where is this God you worship.  He has deserted you in your time of greatest need.”  Satan’s greatest tool is a discouraged believer and he works at nurturing that discouraging attitude.  Non-believers are no problem for him.  It’s the believers that cause him the worst problems.  When they fall on their knees before God, Satan has to run.  He hates prayer, because prayer evokes power from heaven on the hotline to God.  God hears you personally and answers you personally as well.  God doesn’t give vague answers.  God gives clear answers while Satan tries to distort God’s answers by making the believer feel impatient or sense that God is not hearing our request.  When we call out to God we need to rest in Christ as God prepares us for His answer.  God never has to formulate a plan for His answers to us.  He already has the answer.  It’s us He has to prepare to receive all that He has in His answer for us.  The more we are in the Word of God (the Bible) the better prepared we are to receive all that He has in His answer to our prayers to Him.  How incredible this is.

Every single one of God’s answers to our prayer requests is special.  Our problems and pain are no surprise to Him.  He welcomes us to come into His presence.  He is calling you to come to Him today.  You can trust Him for the outcome in all things.

Prayer:  Dear Lord Jesus, Help me to understand that you have my best interest at heart.  I may not understand what you are bringing me through at this time in my life, but draw me near to you through your Word that I may be prepared to receive all that you have in your answers to my needs and prayers.  In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!

May God richly bless us as we continue seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

Have a GREAT Day!!!

In Christ,
