Sent Out.....
Acts 11: 4 So being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went
down to Seleucia, and from there to Cyprus.

Often times this verse, as it is read, appears to blend into the
previous verse and following verse. But
here I want us to focus on the Holy Spirit.
We see the Holy Spirit as guide to these two men. We see also that they had to be aligned with
the purposes of God in their everyday life.
They spiritually listened to what God was telling them in their
hearts. What I see lacking here is
confirmation of that spiritual guidance.
In the book of Judges we see Gideon looking for confirmation on more
than one occasion. He wanted to confirm
that this truly was a battle that God wanted Him to be a part of. I don’t think Gideon expressed any shame in
how he used the test of the fleece to seek direction and confirmation from
God. He simply couldn’t believe that he
was chosen by God for this specific task.
Why not? It was a lack of
faith. Gideon knew God, but failed to
believe himself worthy of being used in such a powerful way.
The key to start with is our spiritual connection with God. Do we talk with Him on a regular basis? Often times we talk to God and shut Him off at the end of our prayers. We close the deal before God has a chance to speak to our hearts. How can He do this? God speaks to us through various methods. He uses His Word for one. There His communication is clear and quite precise. Application comes through the Holy Spirit, again, God. As we sit and listen to God, we can hear Him confirm direction and assure us of His great love and concern for our lives. Sometimes it may seem as we are thinking thoughts to ourselves, but if you are in tune with God you will recognize His great truth as He speaks to your heart.
Have a GREAT Day!!!
We can be used by God in the same powerful way as Paul and Barnabas,
but we must be in tune with Him if we expect to experience the same level of
spiritual sensitivity that they did in seeking God’s direction in their
ministry.
Send us out for the cause of Christ all other things are
secondary. If we put Him first, He will
take care of our provisions along the way.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, Help me to seek You in
establishing clarity in the direction you would have me to go. In Christ I pray, AMEN!
May God richly bless us as we
continue seek His will, and His way, through His Word.
Have a GREAT Day!!!

What did they do? Verse three
gives us insight into the heart of two men seeking God’s direction. Their task in seeking God appears quite
simple. They fasted and prayed, and
hands were laid on them from other devoted believers. Sounds simple, and it was. But they were confirmed by the Holy Spirit
whom they sought for spiritual guidance.
Often times we look to ourselves to determine our paths and request
God’s input and confirmation as an afterthought. To be led by God we must seek Him with
methods that work, and this method worked.
Take time today to just listen to His call on your life. Remember this, God doesn’t speak audibly He
doesn’t need to. He speaks spiritually,
and to hear Him, you must be still and know that He is God, for He speaks in
that still small voice. God will never
compete with this world for your attention. He doesn’t have to. His Son got your attention from a cruel Cross
if you know Him as your personal Savior.
How you set your personal time alone with God is totally up to you. How you answer His call for you to come to
Him, see Matthew 11: 28-32.
Have a GREAT Day!!!
