God's Mercy in Times of Trouble (Part 2 of 5)

Psalm 25: 12 Who then, is the man that fears the Lord?  He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.  (NIV)

Good Day Men!

David’s instructions are quite clear.  When man is following God in obedience then we have no fear of God, only to fear His mighty judgment when we willfully stray away from His perfect guidance and direction for our lives.  I see also dependence upon God and His direction given by instruction found in His holy Word.  God has in fact chosen a direction for our lives and is more than willing to show that direction to us as we seek His will and His way through His Word.

God’s mercy extends into the lives of those who choose to willingly follow Him.  To many, God is a casual God.  But that kind of understanding displays lack of knowledge and wisdom found only in God’s holy Word through the experiences of those who have gone before us leaving behind the rich legacy of life, knowing God.  True understanding and purpose for our lives requires a level of commitment found only at the feet of Christ and at the foot of God’s majestic throne.  What we need to do as believers is to seek the same kind of commitment for our lives in following God, as God is committed to guide us with His mighty love.

God calls us to seek Him.  He knows where we are and is ever-present in our lives.  But it is us, believers, who must decide how seriously we will take God.  He is serious in His commitment toward us, so much so that He gave His only Son to provide us a way to Him.  That is committed love.  Are you committed to God and His guidance for your life?

Prayer:  Dear Father in Heaven.  May my eyes be opened to your fulfilling love and guidance as you continue to show me your direction for my life.  Give me the same kind of love for you that you have for me.

May God richly bless us as we continue seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

Many conferences over the next several years averaged between 60,000 and 70,000. Several conferences were held throughout the year, mostly from early summer into mid-fall. Proverbs 4: 1   Hear O sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention that you may gain understanding, (NASB) As I look at this verse for the day I see the seriousness of our responsibilities as fathers to our children. Just as we are to look to our heavenly Father for His wisdom applied to our lives through His Word, our children look to us so that they too, in life, will  gain understanding .  How prepared are we as dads to reveal to our children the truths of life as revealed in the Bible. The first thing they see is our walk. We can say all we want, but unless our walk reflects what we say, our children will not take what we say seriously. At times they will test us and push us to the limit. We MUST stick to our convictions.
