Being a Man..... and Being Significant... (Part 11a)

Roman’s 15: 5 Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus.   (NKJV)

This verse brings an incredible awareness of what Christ’s desire for us is on His level of communication.  This type of skilled communication requires two of the things that make up the character of God in the early part of this verse.  Now may the God of patience and comfort take us deeper into the desires of God for us as His children.  As believers, we need to become like minded when communicating with each other.  This doesn’t mean that we will all think alike.  It simply means that as believers our thoughts and conversations should point unbelievers to Christ and believers into serious growth in Christ.  We should do this together.  It takes no less than two to establish the conversation required to draw unbelievers into the curiosity level.

Then there is the comfort part of the verse.  We should be comfortable in discussing the things of Christ with other believers.  Drop our guard and understand the purpose of what God has for us to learn from Him in each conversation we have with other believers.  Let’s focus on God’s agenda, not our agenda.  In short, when my agenda enters the picture, I see the possibility of losing control of the conversation and going into an area I didn’t have in mind ending in a non-desired result.  But when I follow God’s agenda, I am always amazed in seeing how He guides me into a learning opportunity at each opportunity that comes my way.  The decision is easy; His agenda is always better than and so much more challenging than mine.

Take time today to steer the conversation to God and see what He does in the growth process in your life.  Begin enjoying His agenda today.  It’s worth the journey.

Prayer:  Dear Lord Jesus, make me a tool in your hand that I make take each and every opportunity to learn more about You at each and every turn on my path in this life.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

Have a GREAT Day!!!
