David Cries Out to His Only Hope!
Psalm 51: 2 Wash me thoroughly from my
iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. (NASB)

Good
Day Men!
What happens when we willingly fall into the trap of sin
that Satan places before us? We immediately
go to God for forgiveness! David’s
problem here in Psalm 51 is that he waited a long time before he confessed his
sin before God and even then it was the Prophet Nathan who brought this sin to
David’s attention. (2 Samuel:
11-12) Even though the sin involved
others around David, his sin was primarily against God.
When we sin, we need to clearly understand that our sin will
hurt others even though it may appear to only involve just ourselves at the
time. When we sin we block God from
using us to our fullest potential in Him.
Some of us even rationalize that it surely won’t hurt us that much. Well, that same attitude is what caused the
original sin to take place in the Garden of Eden when Eve conversed with the
serpent. “Surely you won’t die” said the
serpent. But life as they knew it did die
and they paid the price in being exiled from the garden and from their
closeness with God. But isn’t that what
Satan wants, to separate us from fellowship with God? And he does just that when we fall to temptation.
You see, sin truly is complex. And through Christ we CAN win these
battles. However, we must fully
understand the enemy. It is Satan
himself. Satan deserves no battlefront
in our lives. There needs to be no
territory that is subject to being overthrown by his tactics. These temptations need to drive us into the
Word of God. There we will find the
answers to not just withstand these attacks, but to find absolute victory, and
it can be ours.
Prayer: Dear
Lord, help me to not wait for temptation to strike me down to the point that I
fall, but guide me in your Word that I may find strength in times of need. Thank You for being there for me! In Jesus’
Name I pray, Amen!
May God richly bless us as we
continue seek His will, and His way, through His Word.
Have a GREAT Day!!!
In Christ,
