Personal Strength (Part 1 of 3)

Colossians 1: 11-12 strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.  (NASB)

Good Day Men!

Pastor Dr. Keith Moore (formerly) of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mebane, N.C. once used the following in one of his messages: “When we attempt to handle problems in our own strength, we are consciously pushing God away.  We are saying NO to God.”  This is a true statement to say the least.  The verse for the day clearly points out the advantage of godly strength.  Often we want patience and we want it now, without going through the trials it takes to perfect that which God wants to use in our lives.  Steadfastness and patience is learned from God through the daily tasks He has prepared for us that best suit our spiritual learning skills.  God knows our heart and is more than willing to guide us in His ways.  The key here is to accept His daily lessons as He grows more of Himself into our hearts when we strive to seek His will for our lives.

Let’s face it men.  What we really want is the perfect peace we have from knowing we are following God and His will for our lives.  God provides the strength when we truly seek Him.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will and His way through His Word.

Have a great day!!!
