Pursuing Righteousness

Proverbs 21: 21  He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.  (NIV)

Good Day Men,

The result of pursuing God is quite evident here.  Righteousness and love in Christ alone is all we, as believers should seek.  The result is life, prosperity and honor, which alone are enough to draw us to Him but let’s look beneath these expected results.  We find Life in Christ; our prosperity in Him can even be found here in the book of Proverbs.  But honor comes when we pursue God with the right motives in place.  As we grow in Him we build a relationship that is solid and intimate and extremely powerful.  God blesses those who truly seek to know Him more.  These are the riches beyond compare.  Financial prosperity is not mentioned here, nor should it become the focus of our attention.  As the old saying goes “you give a man a fish and he’ll eat right now, but if you teach him how to fish he will eat for the rest of his life.”  God draws us to Himself in every effort to build that relationship that He wants us to have.  His Word is where we will find that prosperity, life and honor.

Key Thought:  Seek Him where you may find Him.  He doesn’t run from us.  He runs to us.

Pursue righteousness through the seeking of His holiness through His powerful Word.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

  Promise Keepers 1993-2024-2 The attendance of that conference in Indianapolis Indiana at the Hosier Dome was a little over 70,000. Many conferences over the next several years averaged between 60,000 and 70,000. Several conferences were held throughout the year, mostly from early summer into mid-fall. Some conferences were held in open stadiums and others held in enclosed arenas. One was even held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina. Proverbs 4: 1   Hear O sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention that you may gain understanding, (NASB) As I look at this verse for the day I see the seriousness of our responsibilities as fathers to our children. Just as we are to look to our heavenly Father for His wisdom applied to our lives through His Word, our children look to us so that they too, in life, will  gain understanding .  How prepared are we as dads to reveal to our children the truths of life as revealed in the Bible. The first thing they see is our walk. We can say all we want, but unless our walk reflects what we say, our children will not take what we say seriously. At times they will test us and push us to the limit. We MUST stick to our convictions.
