Faith (part 2 of 2)
Hebrews 11: 1 Now
faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen. (KJV)

The NIV translation is a little more clear on this verse. Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain for
what we do not see. We must never
frivolously approach God in prayer with a request that requires faith on our
part. Prayer is very serious when it
comes to asking for God’s help in your life.
James 1: 6-8 discusses this very point. When we go to God in prayer we must know what
we are asking for. We must fully
understand the need for His involvement in the situation whether it be a prayer
request for someone who is sick, or praying for your Pastor to touch the hearts
through the Sunday message, prayer is serious business. It takes thought and compassion to pray for
others and when you sense their pain or loss your prayer turns serious. When you have a clear understanding of you
own needs and go to God in prayer, again your prayer gets serious. There are times when the disciples cried out
when they thought their boat was sinking in the storm. God heard their prayer and answered their
need with His son Jesus Christ. Their
need was immediate and sincere. They
asked believing that God would do something.
There was a young man many years ago that stated his prayer like this,
“Lord I need your help if you want to get involved in answering this need of
mine, but if you don’t want to I’ll understand and fix the problem
myself”. This does not involve
faith. This involves great doubt that
God would even want to get involved. God
wants us to want Him to be the major part of our lives. He wants to be involved in every facet of
each and every one of our family members.
We have faith in God when we read His Word. Our faith is in the belief of the text
itself. We have faith in what the saints
did before us. Sometimes the Word is difficult
to understand but pray to God for understanding and in time He will reveal His
Word and it’s purpose in your life.
Get serious about prayer and make your request known unto our most holy
and capable God. Believe me, He WILL
answer you.
Our
faith is a building that is constructed one brick at a time with the solid
foundation of Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, again this day guide me
into a deeper faith, as I grow closer in my relationship with You by trusting
You more for the outcome in all things.
In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN!
May God richly
bless us as we continue to seek His will and His way, through His Word.
Have a GREAT
Day!!
In
Christ,
Rev.
