Our GREATEST Example Of Prayer (Part 6 of 11)

Matthew 6: 10 Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.  (KJV)

Good Day Men!

Great expectation comes to mind when I read Thy kingdom come.  It’s a knowing that it will take place and through this verse we express our expectancy in it’s happening.  The verse further states Thy will be done in earth.  As believers we want His will to be done here on earth but we often fail to realize that we may be the very ones keeping God’s will from occurring.  This can happen when we fail to pray or encourage others.  Maybe even when we turn God away by choosing NOT to teach that Sunday School class that you have been asked to teach.  It could be a number of obstacles that we throw in the path of God.  One especially is our rejection of His call in our life.  When we tell God NO, we are telling Him that we have a better idea.  Some great men of the Bible like Moses, Jonah, Jeremiah, and Peter thought they had better ideas than God did at the time they told God NO.  I’m sure you could name even more.  But what happened in their lives?  God pursued them any way and people’s lives are being touched today because they came to their senses and said YES to God.  Some, like Jonah require a little different style of persuasion.  But God does accomplish what He sets out to do.  I truly would prefer to say YES to God knowing He will provide, than to say no and watch Him move in the life of someone else who is more willing than me.  The greatest blessing awaits our answer to His call in our lives.

…….as it is in heaven.,  is a far cry from what it is here in earth, but our desire is that we become submissive to God in our own lives that in our existence here, we can experience the expected fullness of life that God has to offer yet still knowing that in heaven all things are perfect and sin will no longer have a place in our lives.

Our expectancy is in the return of God’s son, Jesus Christ.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will and His way through His word.

Have a great day!!!
