All You Have To Do Is… ASK!!!

James 1: 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of
God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to
him. (NKJV)
Good Day Men,
Have you ever
needed an idea greater than yourself?
Have you ever needed to solve a problem for which only God could provide
the answer?
Why do we as men
try to do everything on our own even to the point of failure? Have you ever had a “do or die”
attitude? I have. God is waiting for you to get Him
involved. I want to share this important
point with you today.
At times in my
past, I would work at something to produce an answer for a particular situation
only to end up at a dead end with no results.
Sometimes this resulted in more fruitless attempts in finding the answer
again only to become more frustrated with the wrong outcome. I remember a time when I was doing my own
repair work on the family car several years ago. I was changing the brakes. I had placed the car up on jacks and set the
emergency brake for extra safety, and had all the tools laid out so I could get
to them easily. I had done this many
times before on previous cars and cars of friends and relatives, so this was
not something new to me. Well, I removed
the wheels and began to remove the brake drum.
I pulled and pried the drum and banged on it with a hammer. Still it would not budge. In frustration I even kicked it, and believe
me, it hurt me more than it hurt that brake drum. Well my dad had recently shared today’s verse
with me and now an hour into the repair I was exhausted. This was easy. Why was I having such a hard time? I should be done with both sides by now and I
had not even gotten started on the first one because this brake drum refused to
budge. So I prayed. “Lord, I know how to
do this but I must be missing something.
Please show me what to do. I need
this car tomorrow morning.” (This was no surprise to God) I stepped back, looked at the car, and just
rested for a few minutes with my arms crossed.
A few deep breaths helped too. I
was impressed to look inside the car. I
began to negotiate, but I am working on the outside, why do I need to look
inside? It just did not make sense. Oh, well what do I have to lose? So, I walked around the car and looked
through the open driver’s side window.
In my efforts to be ultra safe, I had put the emergency brake on. Not a bad idea when working on the front
brakes but I was working on the rear brakes.
I released the emergency brake and returned to the brake drum I had been
so feverishly working on, and it slid right off into my hand. Strange, how God calls us to himself. Clarity was what I needed on something so
simple yet He was willing to guide me to have peace in trusting Him for the
answer.
Not all questions
and concerns in life will have this simple of an answer. My life has proven that repeatedly. So have the lives of other men I have come to
know over the years.
Key
Thought: Trust God for the complicated issues in
your life as well as the simple ones. He
waits for us to include Him in all things.
Our God
is ABLE
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Guide me
to include you in every facet of my life realizing that you have great purpose
in my keeping close to You and trusting You for the outcome in ALL things. In Jesus name I pray, Amen
May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will, and His
way, through His Word.
Have
a GREAT Day!!!
In
Christ,
Rev.
