Godly Strength

Philippians 4: 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  (NKJV)

I have revisited this verse many times throughout my ministry only to rediscover its powerful truths that lie in its heart.  What drove Paul to write this was his deep need and desire for God’s power, not only in the dark times of his life, but throughout his entire life as a believer.  Let’s face it guys, we really can’t just pull up to God’s fuel pumps of strength and fill up in the time of dire need when God-like strength is required.  That would be cheating God and ourselves.  We need to understand God’s supply is continual and the Holy Spirit lies in wait to fill us (till our cup runneth over, Ps. 23) in the time of need. We need to understand that God is not simply waiting for us to cry out to Him when His strength in our lives is needed.  He wants our lives to be so impacted with His presence that we simply acknowledge that He and He alone is already supplying the strength needed to get through each and every.  Paul did not say, I can do all things that require God’s strength and he will strengthen me when I call out with the need.  He said “I can do all things”.  This means everything we do everyday in our lives.

Here we go back to the abundant life issue again.  Our confidence for needed strength is continual so we need to expect God’s strength in our lives each and every moment of each and every day.  His strength is not sitting there waiting for our calling out to Him.  His strength is already in place and being used throughout each and every day and not just waiting for us to request it.  So men, let’s put God’s strength to work as we face each and everyday, all the daylong.  We can face temptation and say no.  And we can also face God’s challenges before us and say YES LORD YES!

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father.  Help me to understand that You meet our need long before we see that need appears.  Give me greater confidence in my relationship with You as You work all the details of my life that I face each and every day.  Help me to be closer to You as I experience your great provision of strength already in place in my life.   In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

Have a GREAT Day!!!

In Christ,
