Good Day Men,
Continuing the
thread “how to” on how we should make our requests to God, we examine the term
“seek”. How do we know His purpose for
our lives if we don’t pursue Him?
Seek: In this verse it means to actively pursue
Reading God’s
Word is a form of active pursuit, however, we should not limit this term to a
single definition.
When we seek God,
we do so with purpose and intention.
Merely reading the Word of God never really occurs in and of
itself. We do absorb some of what we
read. Nevertheless, when we read the
Bible we need to be focusing on the purposed desire God has planned for us as
we read. There is always something ready
and waiting for us when we open the Bible.
I was talking
with someone the other day and he mentioned that he would like to read the
Bible from cover to cover. This person
enjoys history and the Bible is full of historical events. I am looking forward to his findings as time
goes on and God reveals His purposes as this gentleman begins his marvelous
journey through God’s Word.
We are promised
in verse 8 that we will find what we seek after when we seek God’s purposes
with the right attitude. This means we
should always be on the lookout for the times God chooses to reveal Himself to
us through the reading of His Holy Word.
Key
Thought: Seeking God’s answers to life’s problems
calls for us to have an investment of time in finding what God wants to reveal
to us as believers.
We need
to actively pursue God with great intention and purpose.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, Reveal to me
Your greatest desires as I seek You in the most important place You can be
found, Your Holy Word. Help me to be
ever watchful with great purpose. In
Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
May God richly
bless us as we continue to seek His will, and His way, through His Word.
Have a GREAT Day!!!
In Christ,
