Being a Man..... And Being Significant (Part 2)

1 John 4: 12 No one has seen God at any time.  If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.  (NKJV)

Our resources in Christ go much deeper than even our imaginings can ever carry us.  As believers we have Christ in us according to today’s verse.  As believers we have love for one another, something we didn’t know until we met the Savior and asked Him into our lives.

Reaching to another point of significance we see in the latter part of this verse that God’s love is “perfected” in us.  There is nothing inferior in our love through Christ.  His love is perfect and complete.  The struggle comes when we try to love others in our own capacity.  It never works that way and our efforts leave us frustrated.  This is a major reason why men are frustrated with the intimacy needed for us to communicate effectively with our wives and families.  We try to love and communicate in our own ability, which is incomplete instead of submitting to the love of God, which makes us complete because His love is perfect.  Man’s love is imperfect in and of itself.  In order for us to connect with our wife and children we need to submit to God and let Him love them through us at which time we become the vessel He pours through.  He is the husbandman (vinedresser) and He cares for each of us in His own and unique way, just like He created us to be vastly different, one from another.

We are significant, and we matter to God.  Allow Him today to pour through your life into the life of someone who needs the mighty and loving grace of God.  Also take time today to be the vessel He pours into as He draws you near by the reading and the study of His Word.

Prayer:  Dear Lord Jesus, help me to be an expression of Your perfect love as you pour through me into the lives of those around me, especially my family.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

May God richly bless us as we continue seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

Many conferences over the next several years averaged between 60,000 and 70,000. Several conferences were held throughout the year, mostly from early summer into mid-fall. Proverbs 4: 1   Hear O sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention that you may gain understanding, (NASB) As I look at this verse for the day I see the seriousness of our responsibilities as fathers to our children. Just as we are to look to our heavenly Father for His wisdom applied to our lives through His Word, our children look to us so that they too, in life, will  gain understanding .  How prepared are we as dads to reveal to our children the truths of life as revealed in the Bible. The first thing they see is our walk. We can say all we want, but unless our walk reflects what we say, our children will not take what we say seriously. At times they will test us and push us to the limit. We MUST stick to our convictions.
