The Result of Obedience.....

Acts 6: 8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.  (NKJV)

Hey men, what if we decided to follow Christ and act upon His calling on our hearts on a daily basis as Stephen did.  What do you think would be the result?  The numbers are staggering in those reached through your testimony.  How do I know this?  The story of Stephen is still touching and changing lives today.

Obedience in Christ can be a fearful thing if we refuse to follow it.  When we remain inside the envelope we become limited in our experience and ways to reach others in Christ.  When we follow Christ as He calls us to reach that lost and dying world, then we step out into His calling and we experience results only God can produce through us as believers.  The results can be staggering in those we reach out to in the name of Jesus.

So how can we do this?  Personally go to someone and ask how they are doing.  That’s always a good start.  Your concern for them will launch their curiosity in why you should care enough to ask.  They will then begin to watch your testimony.  Be sure to stay true to God’s course for you.  Another way is to pick up the phone and call another believer and encourage them in Christ.  I personally know of one man who made a practice of this and started calling men each night of the week.  God kept laying names on his heart to call simply because he was obedient to God’s calling.  But remember; always have a copy of God’s Word with you so you can respond through the Word if the need arises.  Always be ready in season and out of season in responding to God’s call for you to step out of your comfort zone and into His.

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, Encourage my heart in relying on You that I may step out of my comfort zone and in to Yours.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

Proverbs 4: 1   Hear O sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention that you may gain understanding, (NASB) As I look at this verse for the day I see the seriousness of our responsibilities as fathers to our children. Just as we are to look to our heavenly Father for His wisdom applied to our lives through His Word, our children look to us so that they too, in life, will  gain understanding .  How prepared are we as dads to reveal to our children the truths of life as revealed in the Bible. The first thing they see is our walk. We can say all we want, but unless our walk reflects what we say, our children will not take what we say seriously. At times they will test us and push us to the limit. We MUST stick to our convictions.
