Grace ..... Sufficient.....

2 Corinthians 12: 9 And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  (NKJV)

We know that Paul pleaded with the Lord three times to remove this thorn in the flesh.  The Lord’s direct response is clear.  We must trust in Him to see us through any and all trials and tribulations that lie ahead.

With some of us we are truly experiencing difficulties with some physical, emotional, or other ailment that seems to hinder our progress in our testimony as we try to reach others in Christ.  The reminder is that God is continually forming us into His servant as we submit to His purposes in our lives.  No, we don’t understand what God is doing through the problems we experience, but we do more clearly understand the principle of Romans 8: 28 each and every trial we encounter.  We are reminded to look to God for the grace needed and that He so over-abundantly supplies when the need arises.

We need to re-access our focus and make sure that God is at the center of our lives when we encounter something that we sense God drawing us into.  We don’t need to be “On Guard” when it comes to God.  We need to be “On Call” so that we don’t have to scurry around trying to get ready for God to use us, but to be prepared at ALL times through the reading and the hearing and the teaching of God’s Word so we will know better each and every day how to recognize when God calls us into service.  

It’s time to re-fire those engines and get ready to move when God calls us out.

Prayer:  Dear Lord Jesus, Help me to always be ready and willing and able to answer your call in my life and to be prepared through the study and the learning of Your Holy Word and it’s application for me in my life.  Make me a useful tool in your hands.   In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

Proverbs 4: 1   Hear O sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention that you may gain understanding, (NASB) As I look at this verse for the day I see the seriousness of our responsibilities as fathers to our children. Just as we are to look to our heavenly Father for His wisdom applied to our lives through His Word, our children look to us so that they too, in life, will  gain understanding .  How prepared are we as dads to reveal to our children the truths of life as revealed in the Bible. The first thing they see is our walk. We can say all we want, but unless our walk reflects what we say, our children will not take what we say seriously. At times they will test us and push us to the limit. We MUST stick to our convictions.
