They Shall…..(Part 3 of 5)

Isaiah 40: 31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.  (NKJV)

The “Eagle” is a common metaphor for strength.  The eagle was created with great powerful wings capable of lifting into the air far more weight than the weight of the eagle alone.  With this capability given to Him by God, we see that even this great bird is capable of doing far more than just what it takes to get by.  Those great wings allow Him to dive down to the earth at incredible speeds to capture unsuspecting prey in their great and sharp talons, taking food back to the nest to feed their young.  Those same powerful wings allow them to soar in the higher altitudes as the wind currents take them higher and farther than they have ever known before.

God created us with built-in capabilities that can carry us much farther in our spiritual lives than we are willing to put to use or admit to.  He is there willing, able, and always ready to lift you up and carry you farther than you are able to see on your own.  That’s why we need to see things as God sees them.  We need to look through His eyes and see with His heart, His vision for us.  Otherwise we are simply living a life of the Dodo Bird who beats around on the ground flapping his wings out of rhythm going nowhere and getting bruised and beat up by continuously hitting the ground in an effort to fly.  He hasn’t the grace of the eagle.  Having feathers and a beak doesn’t make him an eagle.  But the Dodo bird is impatient and does the best he can, never learning by his mistakes.  He still beats himself against the ground in an effort to fly like the eagle.

God built in us the capability to soar in our life as we conform to His image.  If you feel like you’re getting nowhere in your spiritual life, I have an answer for you.  First, STOP and see where you are.  Then, LOOK to see where God is in your life.  Then, LISTEN to hear His instructions by reading His Word and listening to His call on your life through prayer.  Then, you will soar like the eagle.

Men, it’s time to mount up with wings like eagles.  I will meet you on the runway of life.  The time of taxiing around is over.  God has us into position to take off.  Let’s go.  We can do this!  It’s time to SOARRRRRR……….

Prayer Dear Lord Jesus, Show me Your ways.  Give me Your strength and courage.  Help me to step out in ways I’ve never done before.  Prepare my heart to soar.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

May God richly bless us as we continue seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

Have a GREAT Day!!!
