I Will Lift Up My Eyes….

Psalms 121: 1-2  I will lift up my eyes to the hills, From whence comes my help?  My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.  (NKJV)

Often times we see David look up, but here the reference is made to his beloved city Jerusalem.  This was written in a time of great recognition from David.  He looked to his favorite place, God’s chosen city.  He reflected there for some time and cherished Jerusalem the same as God did.

In times of great need we often wait to expend our personal resources.  The last thing we do is call out to God.  My question is; why wait.  Call out to Him in prayer first.  In all of my trials and tribulations I have ever been through, I would like to do the honorable thing and say that I have always called out to God in all things.  But I wouldn’t be sharing the truth with you.  The fact is I have to continually learn to call out to God on a regular basis.  How else could I stay in tune with the wonderful things He has prepared for me each and every day?  I have heard men say on occasion that “I can do it on my own.”  Truth has it, no you can’t.  Not the way God would have you do it and His ways are always best.  Think about it.  We always end up taking our concerns to God.  Especially those that matter.  But wait a minute.  All of our concerns matter, especially to God.  Wonderful blessings await those who seek Him first in all things (Matthew 6: 25-34).

Prayer:  Dear Lord Jesus, show me the way to seek you daily.  Help me to look to you for guidance in all things. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

May God richly bless us as we continue seek His will, and His way, through His Word.

Have a GREAT Day!!!
