The Thief Comes Only To ….

Good Day Men!

John 10: 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and live it to the full.  (NIV)

We are told clearly in this verse that; The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; the thief is reference to the devil himself.  Some commentaries refer to the thief as a “false shepherd” that only cares about the feeding of himself, not the building up of the flock.  However, as readers of the above verse we continue to the good news as Jesus says: I have come that they may have life and live it to the full.  The comparison is clear.  Satan only wants to hurt us while Christ only wants to bless us with great abundant life.  This abundant life or full life that Christ promises comes to those who fully trust in him.  As believers we need to keep our fellowship from being hindered by allowing sin to creep into our lives.

We should be concerned about our personal spiritual purity.  Men I have encountered in the past while working with men’s ministry have expressed this same concern.  The fact that we are concerned about this area of our spiritual welfare tells me that God is moving in this area of our lives and that a God-like break-through is in the making.  Victory is sure in these particular situations and only time will reveal the power of God as the Holy Spirit is allowed to spearhead this breakthrough in our lives as believers.  The abundant life that Christ wants us to have occurs when God breaks through into victory with the impacting of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  We simply rejoice greatly when this occurs.  In short, as God moves in our lives to overcome the evil that so easily besets us, we can rejoice in the victory that awaits us when Satan is overpowered by our most Holy God in the weak areas of our lives, for in our times of weakness we are made strong through Christ.  We must rely on Him.

We can rely fully and completely in the abundant life that comes from God as he sets out to defeat Satan and conquer areas of our lives that we give over to Him.

Abundant life is experienced as the Holy Spirit breaks down the walls of resistance that Satan has built over the years in our lives as unbelievers.  As believers, we have the victory through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.  The price of forgiveness has already been paid and the gift of Grace is ours for the asking.

God’s free gift of Grace comes from above.  Enjoy the abundant life that Christ offers us today.

May God richly bless us as we continue to seek His will and His way, through His Word…..AMEN!

Have a Great Day!!
