The Stand The Man Of God Takes
Good Day Men!
Joshua 24:
15 “……but as for me
and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
(NASB)
Try to do this on
your own and you will fail miserably.
Once we are born again God brings to power his Holy Spirit in our
lives. The house (family) that does
anything other than serve the Lord is destined for division. The word “serve” as I use it here doesn’t
mean to become a Pastor, Minister, Sunday School Teacher, Deacon. Etc. To “serve” in this term means to commit, even
as the only one in the family that may be willing to do this. Satan can and will take the uncommitted home
and tear it asunder. Have you ever
experienced this kind of devastation or witnessed it as it took place in other
families? I have! I have seen grown men, after the fact of
seeing what Satan can do to a divided family, totally devastated and on their
knees before a holy God asking him to restore their family and once again bring
peace. Full commitment to our holy God
can bring peace into a frustrated life and over time can even reunite and
restore a broken family. The key is the
above verse.
As men and the
Godhead of our homes we are responsible for committing to the above verse. You may experience isolation from your kids,
frustration from your mate, and even separation by your friends. Not to worry….God is still in control. Often times we won’t see God in action but he
is there as we pray for our wife, and children.
It is up to us as men to commit our families to God and watch him go to
work as he brings peace into a possibly bitter situation. It will take time. It is so worth it. The transformation of your family is awesome
to experience. Even after you have
prayed for your family members you may still never see the end result of what
God can do. But you will experience the
peace that comes from knowing you’ve done all you can through God to “serve
the Lord”.
Let’s give
our families over to God and let him protect them and guard their hearts.
May God richly
bless us as we continue to seek His will and His way, through His Word…..AMEN!
Have a Great
Day!!
