And We Know….
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose. (KJV)
Here in this verse, we have two designations of people. 1) .... them that love God, and 2) .... them that are called according to His purpose. Another key point that is often overlooked is at the beginning of the verse......And we know...... How many times do we read something just to gain knowledge? (notice that the root word in knowledge is know). How many times must we review the Word of God in order for His promises to be realized in our own thoughts and lives? The Word of God provides so much for us to live by and through. We do not think we know......We do not guess we know....... We do not hope we know......... We just simply must KNOW!
We know several facts about God's promises. We know He died for us, John 3:16 even tells us He died for us, and why he died for us. When we accept Christ as our personal Savior, we have just expressed our love for Him by accepting His love and sacrifice for us.
When we step out in faith through His Spirit to perform some task, He has pointed us to, then we are being ......called according to His purpose... by following what we sense God doing through His most Holy Spirit. This calling may be only to pray for someone…. but what a great calling prayer is.
All of what God calls us to do has purpose in fulfilling His call for us to be obedient. Two great examples of this are the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. We will cover these in the next devotional.
We must accept that in Christ we must have a knowing of His place in our lives. There is no room for guess work when it comes to where we put Christ in our lives. His rightful place is on the throne of our hearts. He wants to guide us into following Him through His Word. There He tells us how to live and how to best represent Him throughout our personal lives. Here we also learn how to give our testimony to others and how to support missions and our local church. He also tells us how to pray for others, just to name a few.
There are so many things that God promises and many ways of how Christ can live through us and give us peace and provide us abundant life which is another promise found in His Word. He wants us to have that abundant life which can come only from Him and through His Holy Spirit. Accept what He has to offer and enjoy the journey set before us. He wants us to enjoy life, and we can……by knowing Him more.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, Guide me into that close relationship with You as I seek to know You more and Your direction for me in my life, in Jesus’ name…. AMEN!
Have a Great Day!!
