So, I Say…...
Galatians 5:16-17 So I say, live by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. (NIV)
In our daily spiritual battles with Satan, God calls us to remain pure and steadfast. He knows that we will battle with the temptation of sin and oftentimes that battle will be fierce. Some battles we will win, and some we will lose. BUT if we learn from our losses, they are not really losses, are they?
We must remember that we are human and some spiritual lessons are harder to learn than others. God knows this and also knows that we are like sheep and can be led astray. Satan is very powerful in the techniques that he uses to draw us away from God, yet there is still no reason acceptable by God for He promises not to put more on us than we are capable of bearing through Him. Folks, it is in His hands.
We must commit even our simplest task to His guidance as we work throughout the day. He wants to be involved in everything that we do, and I mean everything. That is why He always prepares a way of escape when we are tempted. Often times we cannot seem to figure out what the way of escape is, and it has taken me much time to understand what God meant. The way of escape is the most obvious yet often times seem hidden from us. Sometimes we cannot see the forest for the trees. So, here is your roadmap…...The way of escape is running, not walking into the embrace of a waiting and most Holy God. He embraces us with His Scriptures. He gives us His Word, the Scriptures, so that we can hide it in our hearts that we might not sin against God. He provides Himself as our way of escape from the temptation of sin. What a wonderful place to retreat to. He waits for us and is ALWAYS ready for us to come to Him at any time.
Key Thought: Do not wait for the problem to arise and get intense before you seek His guidance. Go to Him before any problem arises and He will prepare our hearts and minds for the day’s activities.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, Guide me to You and show me in Your way how to avoid falling to temptation. Strengthen my heart and give me Your courage. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Have a GREAT day!!!!!
