Is God With You….
Genesis 21:22 ……. God is with you in all that you do. (NKJV)
When King Abimelech and the Chief Captain of his army Phichol encountered Abraham at the well they had a dispute over, even these two men recognized that God was with Abraham. Even though a conflict was involved, Abraham remained solid and reflected strength and courage in the process (Joshua 1:9). He did not waver. It was clearly evident that God was with him.
When we encounter trials and tribulation in the presence of others, is God still evident in your life in the process? If not, we need to evaluate where we are and how this can be fixed. We need to reflect Christ in all we say and do. When things get tough or become hard, we do not need to shove Christ aside and handle it in our own way. That is a recipe for disaster.
James 4:10 reflects how we should handle difficult situations in life. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. (NKJV). We simply cannot handle life on our own.
When we encounter situations, especially in front of someone else, we need to constantly be aware that Satan will do his best to humiliate us and turn our testimony to a slippery slope causing us to fail and to fall in the process, even compromising our testimony in Christ. This can result in our running for cover when conflicts arise. We need to remember that God is with us in all that we do. We can rely on His presence for the Holy Spirit dwells within us if we know Christ as our Lord and Savior.
Key Thought: God’s Word, the Bible, is the greatest resource we can include in all our encounters with others. The more we read and study His Word, the more familiar we are with ways of handling life and God becomes more reflective in our lives to others for the cause of Christ.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, Guide me to open Your Word on a regular basis and to read and study with great intention showing me how I can reflect you more naturally with ease of heart through the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name I pray! AMEN!!!
