Watchful and Thankful

Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (NIV)

We must devote ourselves to prayer if we are to express to God the self-discipline necessary to allow Him to work in our lives. He does not want us to become distracted in the circumstances that surround us. He wants us to focus on His ability to provide us with the abundant life he wants us to live so richly.

We must also be watchful in how we see His answers come in our lives and be prayerful in reverence in how we seek His answers. How or when God answers our prayers does not depend on a specific combination of words or saying exactly the right things at the exact precise time. All He wants is a humble and watchful heart that will be expecting an answer from Him.

We never have to pry an answer from God. His response to us will be loving and compassionate. We may not necessarily like His answer for us but in time we will come to appreciate that He knows exactly what we need and when we need it, as well as what we do not need. He holds the future and we can trust Him for it.

Key Thought: Try Him today and see that He is good.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, make me mindful of Your desires for my heart. Help me to see that it is You who holds all the answers and give me the patience to wait as You answer in Your time, not mine. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Have a GREAT day!!!!!

In Christ,
